Privacy policy

This policy explains which data Copattech processes when you use the EazConvert extension and this website, why, for how long, and what your rights are, in line with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018).

1. What we do not do

  • We do not ask for an account, name or password to use EazConvert.
  • We show no ads and use no third-party tracking or analytics tools.
  • We do not sell or share your data or files for advertising purposes.
  • We do not read the content of the pages you visit.

2. Data we process

  • Anonymous identifier: on installation the extension generates a random code (not linked to your name). It stays in your browser and, if you use Chrome sync, in your Google account. It is used to count your free usage and keep your Pro plan.
  • Usage count: how many conversions the identifier made in each period, to apply the free limit.
  • IP address and approximate location: used to prevent abuse (per-network usage limit). We keep the last IP linked to the identifier and the city, state and country estimated from it, computed on our own server without sending the IP to third parties.
  • Technical data: browser and operating system (the "user agent"), extension version, language and the date of last use, for support and to know which environments the extension runs on.
  • Files you send for conversion: when an operation needs the server (for example removing a background, converting documents, subtitling or transcribing video and audio), the file is sent over an encrypted connection and used only to produce the result.
  • Voice (Dictate): when you use dictation, microphone audio is captured only while you speak. The live text comes from Chrome's own speech recognition, which may send audio to Google under the browser's policy. When you finish, the recording is sent to Copattech to produce the final text and deleted right after. The text stays on your screen until you copy it; we do not keep voice recordings.
  • Cloud history: results of image and document conversions (not videos) are kept in a history linked to your identifier, up to 200 items, so you can download them again. For "Remove background", the original image is also kept so you can reopen the editor. You can delete any item at any time from the extension.
  • Payment: if you buy Pro, the payment is processed by Asaas (Pix or card). We keep the payment code and status and, if you provide it, your e-mail. Card details never pass through Copattech.
  • Feedback messages: the text you write, the browser language and the extension version.

3. Files: where they live and when they are deleted

  • Editing images, taking screenshots and recording the screen happen in your browser. Those files stay in the extension's local storage on your computer until you remove them. A recording only goes to the server if you later request an operation that needs it (subtitles, transcription, compression).
  • Files sent for processing stay on Copattech's computers only while the job runs. They are deleted as soon as the result is delivered to your extension. If something fails, an automatic cleanup deletes everything within 2 days.
  • Videos kept in your browser are deleted automatically 24 hours after download, and the total is limited to about 2 GB.

4. Extension permissions

  • Access to websites: to show the wheel on any page when you press the shortcut and to fetch an image you drag from a site. The extension does not read or store page content.
  • Downloads: to save results to your downloads folder.
  • Storage: to keep your settings, the task list and local files.
  • Screen capture: only when you ask for a screenshot or a recording, always with the browser's confirmation.
  • Microphone: only when you use Dictate, with the permission the browser asks for at that moment.

Use of data obtained through the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Your rights

You can request access, correction or deletion of the data linked to your identifier, or ask any question, via WhatsApp +55 32 98513-5699. Please include the ID shown in the extension's Pro panel. Uninstalling the extension deletes the data kept in your browser.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Important changes will be announced in the extension.
